Granastaðir Guesthouse

Accommodation for eight people - two double rooms and a suite for four - Granastaðir Guesthouse opened in July 2016, on the farm Granastaðir in Útkinn, Þingeyjarsveit, about 40 km from Húsavík.

The suite has two double/twin rooms for four people that share one bathroom. The suite is on the ground floor of the house where the owners live on the upper floor, these rooms are very suitable for families or small groups. The two rooms with the private facilities are in a different house across the parking lot in the same house as the shared kitchen for the guests. All rooms are beautifully decorated with made up beds.

The guests are welcome to walk around the land and explore the beautiful surroundings. Lake Mývatn, Dettifoss, Ásbyrgi, whale watching from Húsavík, Goðafoss and more natural areas is possible to visit on day trips from Granastaðir guesthouse. 

Granastaðir Guesthouse is on road 851 and if you are driving from Húsavík on road 85, you turn into road no 851 after crossing the bridge over Skjálfandafljót. Drive about 9 km on road 851 and the destination is reached. 

We aim to welcome our guests with warm and friendly service, and we are willing to help and guide if our guests wish. 

We do not offer breakfast, but a shared kitchen with tea and coffee and more is available to guests.
